Connor McDavid’s rise as one of the NHL’s elite players started long before the spotlight turned to him in Edmonton, and growing up in Newmarket, Ontario, he developed his hockey skills with the help of his parents, Kelly and Brian McDavid, and his older brother, Cameron. The family’s dedication went further than practices and games, with schoolwork, health and everyday family life still important parts of the journey.
