Senior IAS officer Mandeep K Bhandari has been appointed chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) as part of a bureaucratic reshuffle approved by the Centre. Bhandari, a 2001-batch AGMUT cadre officer and currently Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, will replace Lokhande Prashant Sitaram, who had been holding additional charge of the post. The reshuffle also includes appointments across the Rural Development, Expenditure, Steel, Economic Affairs, Higher Education, Power and Skill Development ministries, along with a new Director General of Hydrocarbons.
