BEST committee member and BJP Mumbai spokesperson Ajay Singh has proposed UPI-based ticket payments across Mumbai's bus fleet. He said occasional commuters without a smart card, pass or Chalo app often rely on cash. QR-code payments could ease problems involving exact change, speed up ticketing and reduce cash collection work. The proposal awaits approval from the BEST administration.
