Zutaten:
- 1 unbaked 9-inch (23 cm pie crust)
- 1 ½ cups 300 g granulated sugar
- ½ cup 115 g unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup 240 ml buttermilk
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Optional: ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg (for a traditional touch)
Arbeitsschritte:
- Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar and melted butter until smooth.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking well after each addition.
- Pour in the buttermilk, then mix until combined.
- Add the flour, vanilla extract, salt, and nutmeg (if using). Whisk until the mixture is smooth and slightly creamy.
- Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden and the center is set but still has a slight jiggle.
- Let the pie cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1–2 hours before serving.
