Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed pushed back after a protester interrupted his rally, arguing that disruptions are often designed to pull attention away from the issues voters actually came to discuss.“More often than not, folks who come to try to disrupt these conversations, they want to distract us from the issues at play,” El-Sayed told the crowd.Rather than allowing the interruption to dominate the event, El-Sayed attempted to steer the conversation back toward his campaign message and the political issues at the center of the Michigan Senate race.
