The BMC General Body approved a technology-driven plan to curb illegal constructions and encroachments in Mumbai. The civic body will explore AI-based detection systems, drone surveys, satellite imagery and GIS monitoring to identify unauthorised structures early. A GPS-enabled complaint app and online portal will also allow residents to submit geo-tagged complaints for faster enforcement action.
