BIG Iran Ally Blocks Another Strait As US Readies Warship For War Vessel Under Attack Watch - Times of India Videos
An LNG tanker has reported coming under gunfire off Yemen, adding another maritime security incident to shipping routes already facing heightened risks around the Strait of Hormuz and Persian Gulf. UK Maritime Trade Operations says a small skiff carrying seven people approached the tanker around 140 nautical miles southeast of Al Mukalla. According to the vessel’s master, two shots were fired towards the tanker. Its armed security team responded with two warning shots, after which the skiff changed course and moved away. No casualties or damage have been reported. UKMTO is investigating and has advised vessels in the area to exercise caution. The incident comes amid another report of explosions near a tanker south of Al Mukha. The geography raises broader concerns for commercial shipping. Hormuz threatens one end of major Gulf-to-Europe energy routes, while instability around Yemen and the approaches to Bab el-Mandeb could create another security pressure point farther west.
