Mumbai Cyber Fraud: Peddar Road Couple Duped Of ₹4.52 Crore In Digital Arrest Scam; Fraudsters Pose As Police, NIA And Supreme Court Officials
An elderly Mumbai couple was allegedly cheated of Rs 4.525 crore in a digital arrest scam after fraudsters posed as police, ATS, NIA, Supreme Court and RBI officials. Using forged documents, threats of arrest and prolonged video calls, they allegedly induced the couple to transfer money to two accounts. The South Region Cyber Police are investigating the case.
