West Bengal Leader of Opposition Ritabrata Banerjee has announced a new district leadership for his faction, appointing former Trinamool Congress leader Anubrata Mandal as the Birbhum district president. Mandal, once regarded as a close aide of former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, formally joined the rebel camp, marking another setback for the TMC. Ritabrata also named Prasun Banerjee as Malda district president, Debashis Kumar for South Kolkata and Sandipan Saha for North Kolkata. Earlier, he constituted a new leadership structure for the All India Trinamool Congress Committee, appointed Arup Roy as chairperson and announced a 30-member National Working Committee. He reiterated that he wants Mamata Banerjee to continue as the mentor of the party.
