Princess Elisabeth Island's foundation works are now complete with the final caisson installed. The European Investment Bank provided a substantial green credit facility for electrical infrastructure. This artificial island will serve as a switchboard for offshore wind farms. Its design incorporates nature-inclusive elements for seabirds and marine organisms. The island is expected to be ready for its first wind farm connection in 2031.
