Each year, hundreds of young Ethiopian scholars prepare to pursue higher education at universities across Europe, North America, and Asia. Yet, as international student mobility expands, a critical philosophical question emerges: When a young Ethiopian scholar steps onto a foreign campus, must global ambition come at the expense of national loyalty, or can global citizenship strengthen state capacity?
