A bag of Cheetos left in Carlsbad Caverns National Park caused unexpected changes to the delicate cave ecosystem. The snack attracted molds, microbes, and insects, disrupting the natural balance and food sources. Rangers quickly removed the litter and cleaned the affected areas while taking care not to damage the cave formations. This incident underscores the importance of proper waste management in preserving natural habitats.
