US President Donald Trump says Washington will end its annual financial support to Israel by the end of this year, claiming he reached an agreement with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu months ago. Trump described the payments as worth around $4 billion annually and argued that Israel no longer needs American financial assistance. However, questions remain over what funding the announcement actually covers. The existing US-Israel memorandum of understanding provides approximately $3.8 billion in annual military assistance and runs until 2028. With discussions already underway over future assistance, the exact terms and timeline of Trump's claimed agreement remain unclear.
