Case lodged against Rajinder Rana at Sujanpur for comments against Sukhu - The Tribune
The police registered an FIR under Section 353 of the Bharatiya Nayay Sanhita against former MLA Rajinder Rana at the Sujanpur police station in Hamirpur district on Friday evening, The charges covered in the FIR included spreading public mischief, spreading false rumours or inflammatory news and making statements or electronic posts to incite hatred or unrest in society. The FIR was reportedly lodged over Rana’s remarks during a press conference a few days ago levelling charges against Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and the Congress government. Rana had questioned the escalation in the construction cost of a bus stand in Hamiprur from Rs 36 crore to over Rs 100 crore and alleged violation of rules. He had also questioned the establishment of a winery in Italy at a cost of Rs 150 crore and the construction of a building near the newly constructed campus of a medical college near Rangas in the Nadaun Assembly constituency of Hamirpur district along with remarks against Congress leaders, including the Chief Minister.
